“Coupling or Re-Coupling Your Relationship”

Couples Mediation (CM)

Relationships are often plagued by disagreements, extra marital affairs, silent tensions or overt arguments. This toxic relationship environment leads to feelings of unhappiness and dissatisfaction that fester for years and may lead to break-up or divorce.

CM
is a brief, solution-focused, results-oriented approach to reclaiming your relationship and building a better future. CM is designed to help relieve emotional distress, and resolve disputes through healing, cooperative dialog. Dr. Grether, a Clinical Psychologist and Qualified Mediator,  guides you to identify present day issues and find solutions that work for your relationship. This mindful approach engenders hope and facilitates behavior change to Achieve Resolution and Preserve Relationships.

Commonly mediated issues include:

 Her Needs vs His Needs
 Affection & Sex
 Infidelity
 Addictive Behaviors
 Money Management
 Parenting Practices
 Division of Labor/Tasks
 Choice of Religion
 Living Arrangements
 Career Plans/Expectations
 Relationships – Family, Friends
 Personal Health & Hygiene

CM is not marital therapy or marriage counseling which tends to rehash and re-live negative emotional experiences.  There is no diagnosis, assessment or treatment of illness or disability in hopes of solving marital problems and achieving a better relationship. Through dispute resolution approaches and future behavior change, CM provides the building blocks and a firm path to a happier and more satisfying relationship and marriage.  CM is the sound alternative to marriage counseling.

Pre-Partnering Facilitation (PPF)

Partnering (whether in marriage or living together) can be one of the most joyful experiences in life. Much time, effort and expense is often invested in wedding preparations or in cohabitation planning. If even a small portion of the effort and expense were invested in preparing the relationship for partnering, marriages or cohabitants would be happier, home life would be stable, and fewer divorces/break-ups would occur.
PPF offers a brief, non-sectarian approach to preparing your relationship for a lifetime together. Whether it is your first, second, third or fourth marriage or cohabitation, PPF addresses the major issues for partner happiness:

 Family Background
 Personal Similarities & Differences
 Affection & Sex
 Money Management
 Communication & Problem Solving
 Children & Parenting
 Division of Labor/Tasks
 Religion & Spirituality
 Extended Family Relationships
 Personal Health & Hygiene
Blended Families (for previously married/cohabitants with children)

Through PPF you gain insight into yourself and your partner. Behavioral agreements are made and documented to memorialize your promises and dedication to each other.
